Teleradiology is the practice of interpreting Radiology images by the Radiology Physician while not physically present in the place where the actual image acquisition happened. Nowadays the number of Hospitals, Diagnostic centers, private clinics etc. utilizing Teleradiology services is drastically increased due to several reasons. This is particularly important when a sub-specialist such as a Body Imaging radiologist, neuroradiologist, pediatric radiologist, or musculoskeletal radiologist is needed since these professionals are generally only located in large metropolitan areas working during daytime hours. Teleradiology requires computer Hardware, software and the internet. The acquired Radiology DICOM images will be transferred to the teleradiology application by a clinical imaging technologist.
